Painting & Color Match

Color that disappears
into the original.

Matching modern factory paint is closer to art than chemistry. We've built the booths, the tools, and the process to get it right the first time, so a repaired panel reads as one piece with the rest of the car.

The match

The panel nobody can spot.

A bad color match is the thing that screams "this car was wrecked" three years later, when the afternoon sun catches an off-shade door. We've matched enough silver Camrys and oddball factory blues to know it's the part people notice most, so we treat it as the part that matters most.

We paint with PPG, mix on the LINQ system, and refinish in booths built for an even cure. The result is a finish with the depth and gloss it should have, that still looks right after a full New England winter of salt and sand.

How we get it right

Engineered, not guessed.

Computerized color match

A handheld DigiMatch scanner reads the actual color off your panel, faded and all, and pulls the exact formula instead of a painter guessing off a chip.

Mixed by weight, every time

PPG’s MoonWalk system meters and mixes the formula automatically, so the batch comes out identical from the first coat to the last.

Italian infrared booths

We refinish in CMC infrared spray booths, which cure the paint evenly from the panel out for a harder, more durable, chip-resistant finish.

Checked in three lights

We don’t release a car until the panel-to-panel match holds in three different lighting conditions, including direct sunlight.
